The Well

 

THE WELL

Joseph’s brothers threw him down a well

Had no concern if he’d experience hell

They strolled away

Their deed well done

 

As Joseph stared up at the light

He wondered what would come the night

This brotherly love he could not feel

His brothers wanted to break his will

 

His will was strong

The night was long

The sun had risen and shined real bright

Joseph’s will had made the night

 

Joseph found himself cajoled

The night and sun had given robe

The lessons of the night and sun

Had proved to be more than one

 

They pulled poor Joseph from his hell

They said you Joseph learn so well
