If I had a child

And throughout that child’s life

I gave that child

Nothing but strife

And on the day

That I passed away

That child of mine

Still questioned my vine

From the other side

And from the world above

I would send that child

Nothing but love

The child would then know

That my love was true

And the life full of strife
