Joseph’s brothers threw him down a well

Had no concern if he’d experience hell

They strolled away

Their deed well done

 

As Joseph stared up at the light

He wondered what would come the night

This brotherly love he could not feel

His brothers wanted to break his will

 

His will was strong

The night was long

The sun had risen and shined real bright

Joseph’s will had made the night

 

Joseph found himself cajoled

The night and sun had given robe

The lessons of the night and sun

Had proved to be more than one

 

They pulled poor Joseph from his hell

They said you Joseph learn so well

It’s what you wanted to see

I think the strength is plenty

Do not be mad

When you get what I got

It is strength I have

Forged by many

Yes it was painful

Yes it hurt

At times you could find me

Down in the dirt

I would pick myself up

And sometimes I’d crawl

I would fight through the laughter

Of one and of all

I finally won the battle

I finally won the war

I found my true strength

As a sad silly mole

I hope you got a stack

Why would you collude in my downfall?

What did I do to deserve your disdain?

Why do you want my life to be filled with rain?

I liked you, I loved you

You were my only light

You came upon my heart like a thief in the night

I stand before you a destroyed soul

I see all of you clearly for your troubling role

Well, steel is where I come from

Steel is my stock

The destruction you craved is not a lock

For as I stare around at my destroyed existence

I build new blocks in knowledge of you

So don’t come again said way

For I am prepared for the day

Out of the destruction

Comes a soul anew

Out of the destruction

The words are pretty
